Hot Air Balloon Rides in Michigan
Hello, my name is Scott Lorenz and I am the pilot and owner of Westwind Balloon Company. I’ve been flying
the Kensington Park and Brighton, Michigan area for 25+ years. It’s an important distinction to make these days
because so many out of state companies who claim to have balloon operations in Michigan and elsewhere, sell
cheap flight certificates to unsuspecting people that they’ll never be able to use in Michigan. You won’t have

Private Flights for Two
Your balloon ride for two lasts about one hour and we usually fly over the woods and streams of Kensington Park
and Island Lake State Park. On most flights you'll see hundreds of birds, deer and other wildlife as we touch
the tree tops. It's a spectacular view you can ONLY experience in a hot air balloon. Often, we’ll talk to people
on the ground and interact with kids as they follow us on their bikes. At the end of the flight we’ll celebrate
with a traditional Champagne toast. The entire activity begins at our meeting point which is located in a Park
'n Ride area off Milford Road and I-96 (exit # 155) and we meet 2 1/2 hours before sunset. From there we’ll
launch helium balloons, determine the wind direction, then we’ll take a short drive to one of our nine launch
sites in the area.
What to Wear
We recommend that all passengers wear tennis shoes, jeans, and bring along a light windbreaker type jacket or
sweat shirt. The air temp “upstairs” is within a couple degrees of ground temp. A hat and sunglasses come in
handy in case we fly toward the sun. If you are going to fly with the recipient, be sure to bring a camera or
video camera and we’ll take a photo of you both while flying over the countryside.

Because dates fill fast, in order to reserve your flight or to receive a gift certificate, we require advance

me the credit card information. I’ll send you a certificate that may be kept as a souvenir of the flight. In
the event we have weather conditions unfavorable for a flight on the date selected, we'll reschedule the flight
on a mutually acceptable date, next year if need be. Because of the nature of the ballooning business there
are no refunds.
